Maze8 career coaching provides job search support to newly unemployed professionals and executives on behalf of the DWP and as successfully assisted over 8,000 individuals with their job search/career transition. We are now seeking to appoint an experienced self employed Career Coaches to develop our presence in the South West particularly Bristol and the whole of the Merseyside area.

The service is delivered virtually, face-to-face and through innovative workshops. Working closely with JCP Advisers you will be responsible for managing the end-to-end process including:

  • Delivering presentations to JCP and attending meetings with key senior managers to promote the services
  • Establishing and maintaining relationships with JCP advisers to increase referrals and provide feedback on their clients progression
  • Providing creative solutions to the job search process by using coaching tools
  • Delivering bespoke programmes and maintaining client relationships
  • Completing action plans and records to ensure contract compliance
To succeed in these roles you will need to be able to evidence a proven track record in relationship management and business development. Our client a forward thinking London Authority who delivers the Integrated Youth Services (IYS) to young people living within the South London Region is seeking to appoint an experienced Youth Participation Worker to develop the involvement of children and young people across its services both at an operational and strategic level.
You will be responsible for co-ordinating delivery of our clients Children and Young People’s Participation Strategy, the implementation of their Participation Action Plan and taking a lead role in their Participation Strategy Group, reporting on progress towards meeting the objectives of the Participation Strategy.
A strong influencer & motivator you will support staff within the Local Authority and CAMHS to embed participation within their services in line with Hear By Right principles. This may include training, presentations, running workshops and helping colleagues plan, monitor and evaluate their practice. You will assist workers across IYSS to incorporate youth involvement and participation as part of their ongoing work programme and help to co-ordinate and support existing user groups and forums within Youth Clubs, the Youth Offending Team and Youth Support Teams.
You will work in partnership with other organisations including Health, the Police and Voluntary Sector to ensure a coherent and co-ordinated approach to children and young people’s participation across the borough; as part of this, you will work with colleagues to maintain an effective multi-agency Participation Practitioners Group.
You will also play a key part in developing the Youth Opportunity Fund Young People’s Panel so that young people across the borough have a say in how mainstream and any grant funding is used for activities and programmes within IYSS, and you will take an active part in Identifying external funding opportunities, helping to prepare bids or proposals in order to develop programmes and projects that develop the youth participation agenda.
As a qualified Youth Worker you will have substantial experience working with a range of young people in informal settings, employing a range of youth work methods, including group work and developing good relationships to support their personal development and achievement. You will also have experience of influencing partners at a strategic and operational level, significant experience of planning and co-ordinating activities and projects, and a deep understanding of key policy documents relating to participation including Every Child Matters, the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child, Hear By Right.

Our Client who provides Connexions Services to young people living in the Greater London area is seeking to recruit to a Community Personal Adviser. We are therefore seeking a qualified, enthusiastic, flexible and confident individual to undertake this role.
As a Personal Adviser you will deliver a universal service to young people aged 16 – 19 years old. Working with a caseload of young people who have left school and are not in education, employment or training (NEET) you will provide initial assessment of need to ensure that a holistic package of support is put in place to meet their needs.
You will:-

  • Assess young people’s needs and develop clear action plans and refer to specialist and/or statutory agencies where appropriate.
  • Engage effectively with young people on your caseload (on an individual or group basis as appropriate) to identify their needs and address their barriers to learning and work.
  • Interview young people who attend the Connexions Centre as part of the drop in service• Review progress against objectives with young person at regular intervals as appropriate to their needs.
  • Provide careers advice & information on employment, education and training opportunities and empower and support young people to make effective transitions into positive outcomes.
You will also develop collaborative relationships with relevant professionals including,educational institutions, youth offending and leaving care teams, CAHMS and other referral bodies and specialist organisations to ensure that young people have access to specialist services to meet their individual needs.
To succeed in this role you must hold a relevant careers guidance qualification (QCG or NVQ level 4 in LDSS/IAG). Our client is seeking an experienced and qualified senior Youth Worker to oversee the youth provision within a designated locality. Our Client, a leading provider of Further Education within the Greater Manchester area is seeking to recruit a Pastoral Support Worker & Learner Participation Officer.

The overall aim of the role is to work with full time 16-18 students to provide enrichment and pastoral support to ensure their retention and achievement.

As a Learner Participation Officer you will ensure that student’s time at college is a fulfilling and broad learning experience by developing a range of cultural and social activities for them, and proactively encouraging learners to positively contribute and participate in the college community.

To succeed in this role you must have youth work experience ideally working with the16-19 age group and experience of organising successful activities and events for young people to participate in. A knowledge and understanding of the Learner Engagement Strategy and the Learner Voice is highly desirable.

As a Pastoral Support Worker you will work with full time 16-18 students to support their retention and achievement on course and provide for their pastoral development. You will manage a caseload of ‘at risk’ students and support them on issues such as attendance monitoring, time management or organisational skills, study skills, financial or welfare support. You will also offer information and advice to students on finance, health, housing etc and signpost students to specialist external agencies as appropriate.

To succeed in this role you will hold a guidance or mentoring qualification and have experience of providing advice and guidance in a similar setting. Specific knowledge and understanding of student finance and welfare issues is also essential.

Our Client, a National Training Organisation who provides a range of specialist creative programmes is seeking two interim Pastoral Tutors to offer support to students at their Centres in Birmingham and East London, initially for 1 day per week. Your main responsibilities will include:-

  • Providing one to one support to students to assist them to overcome any issues that may prevent them from completing courses.
  • Signposting and referring students to outside agencies to access specialist support services where necessary
  • Establishing and maintaining relationships with external agencies who are able to offer professional support to students
  • Providing a drop-in service for students
  • Liaising with teaching staff regarding the needs of students
  • Promoting the services to both students and teaching staff
The successful candidate will either hold the diploma in Counselling qualification or have extensive experience working with young people in a counselling role and have a good understanding of some of the pastoral issues which may impact on student retention.

This is a newly created role within the Organisation which is likely to be student demand led.
The success of the service will determine if there is a requirement to extend the role beyond 1 day per week. Our client is therefore looking for someone who is able to roll out, promote and market the services to students to ensure its success.
